Fishermen Swim to Shore After Boat Capsizes on Stockton Lake

STOCKTON LAKE, Mo. - Two fishermen were able to swim to safety and spent the night on shore after their aluminum fishing boat began to sink in Stockton Lake late Monday.
STOCKTON LAKE, Mo. - Two fishermen were able to swim to safety and spent the night on shore after their aluminum fishing boat began to sink in Stockton Lake late Monday, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Sgt. Jason Pace tells KOLR10 News the boat was about 20 feet from shore in the Highpoint area near Aldrich when it began to sink about 10:30 p.m. Monday. The fishermen suffered no apparent injuries, he said.

The boat was still partially submerged this morning. Personnel with the Patrol’s Water Division were attempting to retrieve it.
