KANASAS CITY, Mo--Kansas City Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel has pulled the trigger, and named Brady Quinn as the team's starting quarterback.
Crennel says it is not simply for Sunday's game against the Raiders.
He says Quinn will replace Matt Cassel for the rest of the season.
Quinn started against Tampa following Cassel's concussion, the Chiefs lost that game 38-10.
KC had last week off.
Crennel says that he's changing the dynamic of the team by naming Quinn the starter.
Cassel has been cleared to play.
Cassel threw nine interceptions and lost five fumbles in five games before his concussion.
"My gut telling me that I had to impact the team by changing the dynamic," said Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel. "By having a different dynamic. And Brady Quinn is the guy that I want to go with. I thought in the Tampa game he showed some poise. And he ran the offense.."
