Congressmen to Hold Public Meeting on Blueways System

WEST PLAINS, Mo. -- A field hearing about the National Blueways Order will be held today in West Plains, Missouri.
WEST PLAINS, Mo. -- A Congressional field hearing about the National Blueways Order will be held today in West Plains, Missouri.

Rep. Billy Long (R-Mo.) and Rep. Jason Smith (R- Mo.) requested the meeting. It will focus on the order's effect on the White River in Missouri and Arkansas and future protection of private property rights. 

The National Blueways designation for the White River Watershed was withdrawn in response to local opposition.

The meeting will start at 1 pm at the West Plains Civic Center. It is open to the public but seating is on a first come first serve basis.
