Company Hired to Market Commercial Street

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Commercial Street District board hopes to gain more attention for its businesses.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Commercial Street Community Improvement District has hired a company to brand and market the famous stretch of Springfield.

Tuesday night there was a meeting tonight to discuss the image, and have the public share ideas as well.  The main goal is to reinvest in the community and market Commercial Street to visitors.

Donnie Rodgers, the Historic Commercial Street Coordinator, says,  "There are some great stories on Commercial Street.  There are some great businesses like Askinosie Chocolates, Pizza House and Artisan Oven.  So we're looking at how better we can tell those stories across the city.  I think a lot of Springfield remembers Commercial Street from the past and has not experienced what Commercial Street has become."

The company hired, Arnett Muldrow & Associates, has completed branding and marketing programs for more than 350 communities in 30 states.
