Chiefs Need Ball Security Against Cowboys

Kansas City will play Dallas Sunday.
KANSAS CITY, Mo--The Kansas City Chiefs will kick off the home portion of the 2013 season Sunday afternoon when they host Dallas.

And the Chiefs will try to keep the momentum going that they built in last week's 28-2 win over Jacksonville.

Kansas City's defense looked strong against the Jaguars, holding Jacksonville to only two points with a late goalline stand.

The last time the Chiefs held a team to a safety was back in 1968.

Alex Smith threw a pair of touchdown passes in his Kansas City debut and says his team needs to take care of the football.

Alex Smith/Chiefs Quarterback:"They lead the NFL in turnovers.  They got six the other night against a good team.  You can certainly see that they emphasize that, stripping at the football, pulling at it, doing anything they can to create turnovers.  That's something we need to be aware of in protecting the football."
