Chiefs' Bowe Arrested For Marijuana, Speeding

RIVERSIDE, Mo. -- Chiefs’ wide receiver Dwayne Bowe was arrested on Tuesday morning for speeding and possession of marijuana.
RIVERSIDE, Mo. -- Chiefs’ wide receiver Dwayne Bowe was arrested on Tuesday morning for speeding and possession of marijuana. 

Bowe was arrested in Riverside, Missouri for going 48 in a 35 MPH in his 2011 Audi A-8, just after midnight. 

According to a Riverside police statement, an officer reported detecting a strong odor of marijuana while questioning Bowe.  The officer asked Bowe and two other passengers to step out of the car while a K-9 officer sniffed out a black bag that held two containers that had close to seven and four grams of pot in them.  

Bowe was then placed under arrest for the possession of a controlled substance.
 
Bowe was taken to jail and charged with speeding and possession and released on $750 bond.
 
The Chiefs are aware of the situation but aren’t commenting further.  The Chiefs are coming off their bye week getting ready for a Sunday night matchup with the Denver Broncos for first place in the AFC West.
