Charles Misses Tuesday Practice

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles missed Tuesday's practice with a strained foot.
ST. JOSEPH, Mo--Up in St. Joseph, the Kansas City Chiefs held practice Tuesday morning and running back Jamaal Charles watched from the sideline.

The coaching staff and trainers electing to be cautious with his strained right foot.

They expect Charles to be back at practice Wednesday.

He could play Friday night when the Chiefs host the San Francisco 49ers.

The training staff say the ligaments in his foot are fine, and that x-rays showed no fractures in the bones of his foot.

This is what coach Andy Reid said Monday.

Andy Reid/Chiefs coach:"It's a foot strain.  And we'll see how he does precautionary measures.  If he can go, he'll go.  We'll see how he does in the next little bit.  See where he is at with pain, pain and swelling we'll see how he does.."
