Charges Filed in Drive-By Shooting in Springfield, MO

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A 20-year-old Springfield man is charged in connection with a drive by shooting in May that sent one woman to the hospital. Police are looking for him now.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A 20-year-old Springfield man is charged in connection with a drive by shooting in May that sent one woman to the hospital. Police are looking for him now.

According to court documents, James "Lil Lewis" Finley is charged with two counts of first-degree assault, armed criminal action and discharging a firearm at or from a motor vehicle for allegedly fired almost a dozen shots into another vehicle on National Avenue near Webster Street.

Finley is not in custody.  He is being sought on a warrant after the drive-by shooting on May 21.

A probable cause statement filed in the case states that Finley pulled alongside a second car, began yelling at the occupants and that weapons were fired at the vehicle.

Officers investigating the scene later recovered eight empty shell casings and found 10 bullet holes the second car.

One of the two women in the car was struck in the leg and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
