SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- St. Louis Cardinals fans in Springfield hit the town in new gear to cheer on their team in Game One of the World Series against the Boston Red Sox.

David Bauer owns Coyote's Adobe Cafe.

He's a Cardinals fan for more reasons than one.

"We definitely have an uptick in business because if the Cardinals. They're very good for business and I love them for it," he said.

He has had a packed bar the last few weeks thanks to Missouri sports teams.

"Last weekend on Friday night, that last game, we had a waiting list to get in, it's a fantastic time to be a sports fan in Missouri," he said.

Fans have to have their gear for the games. And that means big sales for Jennifer Hutton at Rally House.

"Yes we have a huge, huge fan base for St. Louis," she said.

She's a Cardinals fan herself.

"Oh my golly, it is so exciting that they've made it, we were like biting our finger nails waiting to see," she said.

She saw an immediate increase in business when post-season baseball began.

"Sales are through the roof, we cannot keep enough merchandise in for all the fans coming in," she said.

Sales and business aside, this time is all about getting the Cardinals that World Series trophy.

Even with a rough first game, fans are still hopeful.
