BRANSON, Mo. -- Branson gives VIP treatment to U.S. military veterans every day, but really pulls out all the stops for a full week in November, during Veterans Appreciation Week.  It starts today.

An opening ceremony at the Clay Cooper Theater will welcome veterans to Branson.  It begins at 2:00 pm.  It is free to all veterans and their families.

It's just the first of dozens of special events planned throughout the week at venues across Branson.  They range from souvenir button sales, a free luncheon for spouses of veterans, a reception for Vietnam veterans, special reunions for veterans of the various wars, a wreath laying ceremony and the 80th annual Veterans Day Parade - one of the largest in the nation.

The parade is Monday, November 11, at 11:00 am, through historic downtown Branson.

Many of the events are free to veterans and their families.  You can download the full list of events here.
