Planning to go to a movie this weekend?  Our friend Chris the Critic with the Missouri Film Alliance is back with us again this morning to look over what's new at the box office and new releases on DVD.

NEW AT THE BOX OFFICE -
PRISONERS - When a man's daughter and her friend go missing, he takes matters into his own hands as the police pursue multiple leads and the pressure mounts. But just how far will this desperate father go to protect his family?  Hugh Jackman & Jake Gyllenhaal star.

TOPS AT THE BOX OFFICE LAST WEEK -
#1 - INSIDIOUS:  CHAPTER 2
#2 - THE FAMILY  … I rather liked this mob flick.  It's part drama, comedy, action & intensity!

NEW ON DVD THIS WEEK-
WORLD WAR Z - Brad Pitt amazingly stars as a United Nations employee who travels the world in a race against time to stop the zombie pandemic that is threatening to destroy humanity itself.

THE BLING RING - Inspired by actual events, a group of fame-obsessed teenagers use the internet to track celebrities' whereabouts in order to rob their homes.  Sofia Coppola writes and directs as Emma Watson stars.

LOCALLY-

SALINGER, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman & Edward Norton debuts at The Moxie Cinema in downtown Springfield.  Moxiecinema.com for more info.

AND, keep Friday, September 27th on your calendar as The Moxie & Mother's Brewing Company bring you the final outdoor movie of the season in Mother's back yard at dusk … one of THE BEST … PULP FICTION!
