Planning to go to a movie this weekend?  Harrison Ford in a futuristic role and 5 Academy Award winners all in one movie! Our friend Chris the Critic with the Missouri Film Alliance is back with us again this morning to look over what's new at the box office and new releases on DVD.

NEW AT THE BOX OFFICE -

ENDER'S GAME - The International Military seek out a leader who can save the human race from an alien attack.  Ender is a brilliant young mind recruited and trained to lead his fellow soldiers into a battle that will determine the future of Earth. Asa Butterfield & Harrison Ford star.
LAST VEGAS - Three 60-something friends take a break from their day-to-day lives to throw a bachelor party in Las Vegas for their last remaining single pal. Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, Michael Douglas and Kevin Kline light up the screen.
FREE BIRDS - Two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in time to change the course of history - and get turkey off the holiday menu for good.  Vocal stylings from Woody Harrelson & Owen Wilson.

TOPS AT THE BOX OFFICE -

#1 … Wow BAD GRANDPA followed by GRAVITY & CAPTAIN PHILLIPS
Debuting at #4  THE COUNSELOR - Great cast … wild script … but, this drug smuggling drama was hard to keep up with and didn't quite hit the mark for me.

NEW ON DVD THIS WEEK-

Since it IS Halloween, might I suggest the GREATEST scary movie of ALL TIME … HALLOWEEN from 1978.  The music is AMAZINGLY frightening!

The super cute. MONSTERS UNIVERSITY is great for the kiddos.

And, R.I.P.D. is a disappointing turn starring two actors I love, Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds, about a recently slain cop joins a team of undead police officers working for the Rest in Peace Department and tries to find the man who murdered him.

LOCALLY-

Coming to The Moxie Cinema in downtown Springfield is the romance-comedy, DRINKING BUDDIES starring the very talented Olivia Wilde and Ron Livingston … moxiecinema.com for more info!
