Planning to go to a movie this weekend?  Sandra Bullock will send you into orbit. Our friend Chris the Critic with the Missouri Film Alliance is back with us again this morning to look over what's new at the box office and new releases on DVD.

NEW AT THE BOX OFFICE –

GRAVITY - A medical engineer and an astronaut work together to survive after an accident leaves them adrift in space.  Sandra Bullock receiving A LOT of acclaim for this film that also stars George Clooney & Ed Harris.  I recommend this in IMAX.
RUNNER RUNNER - When a poor college student who cracks an online poker game goes bust, he arranges a face-to-face with the man he thinks cheated him, a sly offshore entrepreneur.  Ben Affleck & Justin Timberlake star.  *You know it was one year ago that ARGO hit screens!

TOPS AT THE BOX OFFICE?

#1 – CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2
#2 – PRISONERS
Debuting at #5 was DON JON
NEW ON DVD THIS WEEK-
For the kiddos is THE CROODS!

And, for the EXACT opposite audience is THIS IS THE END!  Hilariously edgy movie from the crazy warped mind of Seth Rogen.  He and his pals star as sort of crazy versions of themselves.  And, technically, if you dissect this flick, it’s a movie about being a good person … but, surrounded by a bunch of WRONG-NESS.

LOCALLY-

BLUE CAPRICE, starring Isaiah Washington debuts at The Moxie Cinema in downtown Springfield.  This is the film about the 2002 Beltway sniper attacks.  Moxiecinema.com for more info.
