A great start to the new year! Our friend Chris the Critic from the Missouri Film Alliance is back in for our Thursday look at new releases in theaters this weekend.

NEW AT THE BOX OFFICE –
PARANORMAL ACTIVITY:  THE MARKED ONES – This anticipation feasts are always awesome to me AND have been since 2007.  And, it’s SO cool how they’re all connected by the Katie Featherstone character.

TOPS AT THE BOX OFFICE –
All the rage is STILL THE HOBBIT:  DESOLATION OF SMAUG!

NEW ON DVD THIS WEEK-
DON JON -  Joseph Godon-Levitt created this masterpiece about a New Jersey guy dedicated to his family, friends, and church.  He does develop unrealistic relationship expectations from watching adult films.

As I prepare to vote for the Critic’s Choice Movie Awards and head to Hollywood for the January 16th show, it's time … everybody’s been waiting for it:

My TOP 10 LIST – here are my faves of 2013
1.     WOLF OF WALL STREET
2.    DALLAS BUYERS CLUB
3.    AMERICAN HUSTLE
4.    LONE SURVIVOR
5.    42
6.    PRISONERS
7.    GRAVITY
8.    WAY WAY BACK
9.    IRON MAN 3
10.    CAPTAIN PHILLIPS

*HONORABLE MENTION – THE BUTLER

UNDERRATED – 42, PRISONERS,  WAY WAY BACK , FRUITVALE STATION  & YET TO GO WIDE, LONE SURVIVOR (BUT, awards buzz has been TOO light)

WORST of 2013 = LONE RANGER
