Bears Make It Close In Loss To Iowa

Missouri State fell at Iowa on Saturday.
IOWA CITY, IA. -- Missouri State trying to join the FCS upset party this afternoon in Iowa City.

Last week the Iowa Hawkeyes were one of seven FBS teams to fall to FCS teams, while shelling out about $2.5 million to those schools in the process.

According to ESPN business reporter Darren Rovell, Missouri State, $475,000 to play Iowa. Hawkeyes lost last week to Northern Iowa.

In the second quarter he's sacked by Caleb Schaffitzel to stall a drive, and Iowa misses a field goal.

But Vernon Scott fumbled the ball back, and it was 7-0 Iowa at half time.

In the third, Iowa running back Mark Weisman scored a pair of touchdowns to make it 21-0. He finished with 184 yards rushing.

But at the beginning of the fourth, Kierra Harris found Julian Burton for a touchdown to make it 21-7.

And Rique Bentley picked off Rudock and took it to the house to make it 21-14.

But Rudock scored on the next Iowa drive, and Harris was intercepted in the red zone for the Bears.

Missouri State loses 28-14.

The Bears are 0-2 and go to Murray State next week.
