Bears Fall to the Panthers

The Missouri State football team snaps their four game conference winning streak.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--Mizzou's Dorial Green-Beckham on hand to cheer on the Bears.
And it was 3-0 Missouri State early when the Bears Ryan Heaston fumbled on his own 2-yard line.

Northern Iowa's David Johnson scored two plays later, 7-3 panthers.

Later in the first quarter Johnson scored again this time from 21 yards out it's 14-3 Northern Iowa.

Right before the half, Northern Iowa was threatening again, but Brion Carnes pass is picked off by the Bears Brandon Cheaton it was 14-3 UNI at the half.

Move to the fourth quarter Kierra Harris at quarterback for the Bears, he got a nice pickup, but fumbled the ball at the end of the play, the Panthers turned that into a fieldgoal 17-3.

The Bears made one last push, fourth quarter and Ryan Heaston scored from 8-yards out, Missouri State down just a touchdown.

But on the Bears last drive, Glaser was picked off by Tate Omli, one of five Bear turnovers on the afternoon and Northern Iowa snaps the bears four game winning streak, and dashes their playoff hopes 17-10.

"We made mistakes today that we haven't made in the last few games.  And it hurt us," said MSU quarterback Ashton Glaser.

"It hurts because we had so many things in front of us.  But the guys played hard and it's all i can ask," said MSU Coach Terry Allen.

Missouri State's season ends with a 5-and-7 record.
Terry Allen's future as the Bears coach will be determined in the next few weeks.
