SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Running gear, water bottles, and tennis shoes…thousands of runners hit the streets of Springfield early this morning to compete in Bass Pro’s Marathon Weekend.

Marathon Weekend is part of Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Fitness Festival, and attracts runners at skill levels from beginner to advanced.

This year there were 5 different races, starting with the friendly 2-mile Camo Run/Walk and ranging to The Conservation Marathon at a full 26.2 miles.

Full and half marathon runners laced up early and crossed the start line around 7:00 a.m. from Bass Pro Shops. It was a chilly morning but temperatures are rising as time goes on, some runners are still out pounding the pavement even at this time.

Race time results will be available on the fitness page of Bass Pro’s website.
