AURORA, Mo. --  Police officers in Aurora continued an investigation Saturday into the double shooting of a man and woman in front of a Price Cutter supermarket.

The shooting happened about 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Detectives said Luke Scammell and Raven Thornton have been charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and the unlawful use of a firearm.

Johnny Ferguson and Kelsey Gunter were walking across the grocery store's parking lot when the shooters drove up and opened fire, according to an arrest affidavit.

Ferguson was shot in his side and Gunter was hit in her thigh. The two were rushed to a hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
