Central Arkansas beats Missouri State 17-13.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Missouri State Bears returned home to Plaster Field Saturday night to wrap up their non-conference portion of the schedule.

Terry Allen's Bears still searching for their first win of the season.

And facing the 13th ranked Central Arkansas Bears.

Missouri State trying to avoid starting a season 0-4 for the fourth straight year.

And Missouri State strikes first, Kierra Harris with this eight yard touchdown pass to Dorian Buford, nice catch as he gets both feet inbounds,  it's 6-nothing with the missed PAT.

It was 10-6 when MSU retakes the lead Vernon Scott with this three yard touchdown run it's 13-10 Missouri State.

Central Arkansas retakes the lead in the second quarter, Smothers with the eight yard touchdown pass to Chase Dixon it's 17-13 Central Arkansas.

The Central Arkansas Bears led 17-13 at halftime.

Frustration for both teams in the second half as they struggled to get any offense going.

Late fourth quarter Harris hits Buford to get to the three yard line.

But the Bears could not punch it in, this pass incomplete and Central Arkansas holds on and wins 17-13.

Missouri State coach Terry Allen had these comments following the game.

"Yea a tough one to lose.  I thought our defense played exceptionally well in the second half.  Obviously gave up the long pass in the first quarter.  But those guys really played hard.  That's a good Central Arkansas team.  We didn't really rush the ball in the second half like we did in the first half and that really hurt us.  But some credit has to go to the play of their defense."
