SPRINGFIELD
, Mo. --Terry Allen will remain as Missouri State's football coach for at least another season.

Missouri State Athletics Director Kyle Moats made that announcement Sunday via his Twitter account.

As of Monday morning, the University still has not made an official announcement concerning Allen's status.

On his Twitter account, Moats said that he was looking forward to the momentum that was generated at the end of this season to continue into the next.

He also tweeted that he recommended reinvesting Missouri State's monies into the football program instead of hiring a new coach and staff.

Terry Allen completed his eighth season at Missouri State Saturday with a 17-10 loss to Northern Iowa.

The Bears were 5-7 overall, but 5-3 in the Valley, the best conference showing in his MSU coaching career.

That loss snapped a four game Valley conference winning streak that moved the team into third place in the league and possibly a candidate for an at-large bid to the FCS playoffs.

In eight seasons, Allen is 33-56 at Missouri State with only two winning seasons.

Allen has one more year left on his contract at $108,211.
