Allen Ready For UNI Showdown

The Missouri State Bears will host Northern Iowa Saturday.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Missouri State will play arguably its biggest football game in more than 20 years Saturday afternoon.

The Bears will host Northern Iowa and will take a four game winning streak into the contest.

Missouri State's 5-6, but the Bears are 5-2 and in third place in what could be the toughest conference in the FCS division.

A win against the 5-5 Panthers would insure a third place finish in the conference.

The last time Missouri State won five straight conference games was 1988.

"We've got 21 seniors playing their last game," said coach Terry Allen.  "And there's a chance if they win that game they can play more.  They should take three if not four teams from our league.  It's the best FCS league in the country, it's documented.  They took three last year when there was only 20 teams.  You'd think they'd take three or four this year..."
