Alex Smith Ready For Niners

New Chiefs QB Alex Smith will face his old team in Friday's exhibition game.
KANSAS CITY, Mo--The Kansas City Chiefs broke camp Thursday morning and headed back to their practice facility at Arrowhead Stadium.

KOLR 10's Nick Carboni followed them and has more on Friday's battle between the Chiefs and Niners.

The Chiefs will return home Friday to an anxious crowd here at Arrowhead Stadium

A crowd excited to see a revamped team come in to play the defending NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers

That will be an interesting game for the Chiefs new quarterback.

Alex Smith watched San Francisco's playoff run from the sidelines after being replaced by the hot hand…Colin Kapernick last year.

Both Smith and his old coach say facing each other will be a strange feeling.

Alex Smith: "A little different. I'm playing my old team and a lot of the guys that I've played with for a while now. But it's a preseason game. It's just another step. The focus is on Jacksonville for us. It's another preseason game, and then again it's not."

Jim Harbaugh: "I feel like there's a great friendship there and a lot of history. He's a unique person. Just good in all ways. A good friend.

Friday's game begins at 7:00 p.m.

We will be live from here in Kansas City at 6:30 p.m. on K.C. Blitz getting you ready for the game.

It's all on KOZL.

In Kansas City with the Chiefs, I'm Nick Carboni KOLR 10 sports.
