Stec Not Happy Going Into Home Opener

SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Missouri State Bears are coming home.

In our Bear nation report,  after two straight road games, Stec's troops will open the home portion of the schedule Saturday against Murray State.

And Missouri State is still looking for its first victory of the season.

After a confidence boosting effort at Mizzou, the Bears stumbled at North Dakota.

The 11th-ranked Fighting Hawks shutout the Bears 34-nothing.

North Dakota racked up 526 yards of offense against the Bears defense.

Stec says every aspect of the Missouri State team needs to improve if they're to beat the Racers.

"Everything has to be corrected.  They have a sense of urgency.  Because I don't know about them, but I'm tired of being 5 and whatever.   I'm tired of losing.   And I think what hurt the kids a little bit is that they were getting patted on the back for getting our butts spanked in the first game.  And that was a loss.  I'm tired of giving out ribbons and trophies it's time to win.  They better feel my urgency," said Missouri State coach Dave Steckel.
