Springfield Snaps Losing Streak Thursday

Cardinals beat Arkansas to avoid 10th straight loss

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Sandy Alcantara fired six shutout innings as the Springfield Cardinals snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 63 victory over Arkansas at Hammons Field Thursday.

Adolis Garcia drove in the first run of the game with a first-inning double and later launched a solo home run, his sixth of the season.

Springfield (32-34) continues its season-long 12-game homestand Friday against the Travelers.
