But they're hoping to heal up.
And part of that happened Saturday night at Hammons Field where Kevin Siegrist started his rehab assignment.
Siegrist is a left handed relief pitcher that has been a key piece of the Cardinals bullpen since making his big league debut last season.
But after 23 games this year, Siegrist suffered forearm tightness that put him on the disabled list.
His return was aggrevated by shoulder discomfort, but the 24-year old says he's now ready to work.
And he'll stay with Springfield when the Ccards start a four game series in Little Rock Sunday.
"Healthwise I'm ready to go. I'm itching to get back. You know, coming back to Springfield to rehab, I have good memories here," said Kevin Seigrist. "And being able to come back is nice. You always want to get back and help the guys out. But I can only control what I can do to get ready. So if I'm feeling good, I'll be itching to get back...."
