The second seeded Hogs will open against the third seed Liberty Flames.
Mike Irwin has a preview.
The challenge the Hogs face this weekend looks huge.
Both Liberty and Virginia are out hitting Arkansas and both have slightly better pitching numbers.
But it's what these Razorbacks have done lately that has them confident.
Dave Van Horn/Razorback coach:"We've put together more big innings the last three weeks. We call them crocked numbers, not just one run, two three four runs. The last few weeks it seems we've had more innings than all year combined."
Losing Saturday starter Jalen Beeks for almost a month now because of a sore elbow could have spelled disaster for this team.
But when Arkansas needed pitching depth in the SEC tournament it was there.
Jacob Stone/Arkansas pitcher: "We had a lot of guys step up come in and get the job done. You saw James Teague grow up in front of you eyes there."
Winning the first two games is the key to successfully emerging from any regional.
With Trey Killian and Chris Oliver, this team feels it has the starting pitching it needs to stay in the winners bracket in Charlottesville.
Brian Anderson/Arkansas Second baseman:"I feel like we can beat any team in the country with these two guys going. We know they're going to give us quality innings."
Virginia is 29 and 3 at home this season.
And Liberty is playing an hour from its home campus.
Arkansas has a mountain to climb to win this regional.
The Hogs appear to be peaking at the right time to pull it off.
