SPRINGFIELD, Mo--It's golf week in the Ozarks.

The 25th annual Price Cutter Charity Championship will tee off its first round early Thursday morning at Highland Springs Country Club.

But the nailbiting action is already underway.

Close to 200 golfers teed it up at both Millwood golf club and Rivercut in the Monday qualifiers.

These golfers come from all over the United States and locally as well.

Only six golfers from Millwood, and six from Rivercut earned their way into Thursday's first round of the Charity Championship.

The golfers say it's a nerve racking business.

"It's extremely tough.  You have to have a little of luck," said Nick Bisogno.  "But you have to play a solid round.  If you play a good solid round of golf, you'll usually get in.  For me, you just try to go and get it done.  If I can.  If not you just move onto the next one.  That's kind of the name of the game in this..."

No local golfers made the cut, at Millwood, Zack Byrd from South Carolina tied Payne Stewart's course record with a -9, 62.

Drew Laning from Little Rock, Ark. was second at six under.

Over at Rivercut, Bill Maurer from Indiana had the low score at eight under 64.

Four others tied at seven under.
