Nixa Falls in Quarterfinals

NIXA, Mo--State high school baseball rolled on Thursday two more Ozark area teams tried to punch thier tickets to the semifinals. One of those games being played at Nixa as the Eagles hosted Rock Bridge.

The class 5 quarterfinal fighting off some rain showers.

In the bottom of the third. Bruins up 2-0 already and Rock Bridge's Logan Twehous gets Daven Rozell to ground out. Twehous was perfect until the Bottom of the 5th.

Top of the 4th Michael Buxton hits one past the third baseman and Matt Widhalm comes into score. It's 3-0 Rock Bridge.

Still in the fourth. Rock Bridge not done yet. Eric Kuse knocks it to right. That brings in Hayden Johnson. 4-0 Rock Bridge.

Same inning, Dustin Sipes on the mound and picks off Austin Dockins at two.

Then, Nixa's Luke Haswirth gets Widhalm to strike out swinging.

Nixa came back but would fall 5-4. As Rock Bridge advances to the semifinals.
