But golf has rich history and tradition in the region.
And Ozark's Public Television will teach us that history in "Links to the past, Fairways to the future."
The hour and a half documentary will air Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. on Ozark's Public Television.
But Tuesday night there's a viewing party at Twin Oaks country club.
The documentary follows the growth of golf from the early 1900's to the present time.
It follows on the heels of OPT's documentary's on auto racing and the Lady Bears legacy.
And was a blast to put together.
"Rick came to me about three years ago and thought that this would be a great idea for a show about the last three months we've been doing it non stop," said Steve Wynn. "And I'm a golfer so you know. Obviously I was attracted to that but it was a lot of fun simply because I thought I knew golf. But I really didn't know a lot of the history. I didn't know much about Horton Smith. And then I started learning about Joyce Mahoney and Stephanie Powell. And the stories are them. They've lived it, they've experienced it, they've played with these people."
