Nationals Draft MSU's Turner

SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Major League Baseball staged rounds 3 through 10 Tuesday in day two of the 2017 draft.

And another Missouri State Bear heard his name called at the very end of the tenth round.

The Washington Nationals drafted right handed pitcher Trey Turner.

Turner is a Neosho native who played two years at Crowder Junior College before coming to Missouri State.

After pitching seven games in relief, Turner tore his ulnar collateral ligament.

Turner underwent Tommy John surgery in April.

Turner struck out 22 batters in 13 innings of work.
