MSU's Richards Signs With Chargers

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Former Missouri State offensive lineman Randy Richards agreed to a contract with the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent.

Richards will be with the Chargers for Rookie Camp in late July.

Richards, originally from Royal Palm Beach, Fla., transferred to MSU from College of the Sequoias (Calif.). He signed with Florida Atlantic out of high school.

Richards joined the Bears for the 2011 season, and started 11 games at right tackle.

His senior season, the 6-foot-4, 310-pound Richards was named co-captain, and started all 11 Bears contests at right tackle.

Richards earned AFCA All-America distinction at season's end as well as Associated Press All-America third-team honors.
