The Panthers were able to get a 69-64 win over Wisconsin Parkside on Saturday. They took on Lake Superior State in a quick turnaround Sunday.
The Panthers are 26-3 on the season.
Drury out to a fast start on the Lakers’ Drake Patterson bouncer to Cameron Adams with the up and under.
Panthers on top 10-3.
Then, the Lakers go inside to Cameron Metz with the lay in to cut it to a three-point Drury lead.
Later, some quick Drury passing to Mike Nwelue with a two-handed slam. 27-22 Drury.
Before the half, Kameron Bundy top of the key, the fold on the jumper, and one. That makes it 37-26 Drury.
And Drury pulled away in the second half. They win 79-61 over the Lakers.
Drury will advance to the regional finals Tuesday night at 7 p.m. against Michigan Tech.
After winning an overtime thriller in the first round, the top-seeded Lady Panthers had their next test in Regionals Sunday against GLVC rivals Quincy.
Where Drury would look for a little bit of revenge after the Hawks handed them a 82-79 loss in the regular season.
That loss was just one of three that the Lady Panthers have on the season.
The Hawks got out to a fast start, Carly Bettencourt hits the triple to make it 13-12 Quincy.
But, here comes Drury. Off Shelby White's foot to Bethanie Funder with a nice pass.
19-15 Lady Panthers.
And the run keeps on going.
Amber Dvoark with two to help Drury close out the half with a 20-3 run and a 40-24.
Hawks’ Hannah Weedman coming strong in the second half the reverse and the foul cuts it to 47-32 Drury.
Later, the extra pass to Sanayika Shields who hits the jumper. Drury up 16.
Then, Drury's Annie Armstrong drains it to make it 66-48.
Quincy's Kara Gerbus comes right back, gets the offensive board and the put back to make it 66-50.
Then Gerbus again with a give away and gets it right back for the three ball to cut it to a fifteen-point game.
But, Drury kept a comfortable lead the rest of the half.
Amber Dvorak finished with 19 as the Lady Panthers advance to their first home regional final.
They win 78-58.
Drury will play Wayne State at 7 p.m. on Monday.
