SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Springfield has been blessed with some outstanding golf courses.
And Wednesday the American Society of Golf Architects honored Twin Oaks for its recent golf course upgrade.
Twin Oaks is one of 12 golf courses world wide that was honored by the organization for its design excellence.
Twin Oaks renovated its driving range and added a new short course for beginners and junior players.
The new six hole course features synthetic greens that can help grow the game with beginners.
"Every club has a tendency, the age of their membership is growing, getting older. Like all of us," said Past President of Twin Oaks Dick Moger. "And for the game of golf to continue for these clubs and succeed, you have to bring the kids in and get them involved in the game. Lets get the kids out.."
