Midland Beats Rain, Cards

SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Springfield Cardinals continued their homestand Thursday night and wrapped up their three game set with Midland.

The Cards trying to bounce back from Wednesday night's loss.

And rain would hold up the game for just about a half hour.

Midland would threaten in the second, a RockHound at third, but Springfield's Seth Blair strikes out Dusty Coleman swinging. 

Next batter is Beau Taylor, and he takes this deep to right, but the Cards David Popkins goes up and robs Taylor of a homer, it's still scoreless.

Midland flashing the leather in the bottom half, Curt Smith's drive to right, and Chad Oberacker with the diving catch.

The RockHounds score in the third, Josh Whitaker rips this to left, the ball goes off Mike O'Neill's glove, Conner Crumbliss scores it's 1-nothing.

It was 2-nothing when Max Muncy takes this deep to right center, over the Casey pizza sign and gone, a two run bomb it's 4-nothing.

And Midland wins 4-2.
