Long time Bolivar Coach, Potts, Dies At 79

BOLIVAR, Mo--Missouri sports Hall of Famer, and long time Bolivar football coach Doug Potts has died at the age of 79.

Potts started coaching the football Liberators in 1966 and finished in 2000.

In that time he won 213 games.    

Potts was the Missouri state football coach of the year in 1992.

His Liberators made it to the state semifinals in 1992 and 93.

A number of current high school football coaches played for Potts including Lance and Brock Roweton.

Funeral arrangements for coach Potts are still being finalized.
