This comes less than 24 hours after the Lasers beat Boston 25-7 to clinch the playoff spot.
The match was delayed two hours because of travel issues for Boston.
And Michael Russell finally won mens singles and the match at close to 11:15 p.m. Wednesday night.
The Lasers have had to overcome adversity this season, three of the original four person roster could not play due to injury.
Springfield ended up using ten different players over the three week WTT season.
"Bringing in new players at the last second, we've really meshed together well as a team," said Michael Russell. "And you know the whole World TeamTennis is very difficult with the travel. We played 14 matches in 17 days all across the country. And most of those matches we're flying and playing on the same day. Our team has done an incredible job."
"For us to make the playoffs it's great. I'm so happy for the team and for the players," said Lasers coach J.L. de Jager. "We have a great environment on the team. We have a lot of fun. And the big thing for me is that the players have to play for each other."
