SPRINGFIELD, Mo--This weekend Missouri State will make its third appearance in an NCAA baseball Super Regional.
And the Bears have had one thing in common in all those trips to the postseason, Keith Guttin.
In our Bear Nation report, Guttin is having another stellar season in this his 35th year at the Missouri State helm.
The former second baseman has passed some milestones this season, including 1,200 victories and his tenth 40 win season.
Two years ago the Bears lost to Arkansas in the Super Regional.
Back in 2003, Guttin's Bears won the Super Regional in Columbus, Ohio and made their first trip to the College World Series.
"I just enjoy it for the players. Honestly, I want to see them experience these things. I've experienced them before, so has our other coaches. I really want to see them experience going as far as possible," said Guttin.
"Obviously he's had a lot of success here. It's awesome playing under him. He always has his players back no matter what. It's a great atmosphere to develope in and hopefully get to the next level in," said Bears third baseman Jake Burger.
