In fact the Kansas City Chiefs will report to camp in a little more than two weeks.
But before the Chiefs can invade St. Joseph, the Griffons have to leave.
As in the Missouri Western Griffons.
When the Chiefs moved training camp to St. Joe five years ago, they built an indoor training facility, and renovated the lockerroom, weight room and stadium.
Missouri Western gets to use all those facilities all year long, except for three weeks in late July and early August.
They don't mind moving.
"Leading up to today we've been kind of packing and getting things ready preparing for today," said Jay White, Missouri Western Athletics Operations. "Our trailer's going to get here and we're going to clear out our lockerroom and equipment room and make room for the Chiefs equipment and supplies.."
"I got here at 9 a.m. and started to get ready to put everything on a truck and get everything out of here. It's been a work in progress for a month now. We know it's coming it's the time of year," said Griffons punter Scott Gorner.
