SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Missouri State Bears will tip off Arch Madness Friday afternoon when they square off with Illinois State in the post season tournament.

In our Bear Nation report, Missouri State is the fourth seed and will take on the fifth seed Illinois State.

The Missouri Valley handed out its post-season awards Tuesday.

And two Missouri State Bears were honored.

Senior forward Jarmar Gulley was named second team All-Valley.

The Beaumont, Texas native tallied 17 double figure scoring games in his 18 Valley contests.

Gulley averaged nearly 15 points and six rebounds a game.

Freshman Austin Ruder was named on the Valley's All-Freshman team.

The sharp-shooter from Nixa has 65 three pointers in his freshman campaign.

Ruder averages eight and a half points a game and started 29 of the Bears 30 games.

Wichita State's Fred VanVleet was named the Larry Bird Valley player of the year.

Loyola's Milton Doyle was named the newcomer and freshman of the year.

Tekele Cotton was named the defensive MVP.

And Indiana State's Khristian Smith was named sixth man of the year.

Coach of the year will be named Thursday in St. Louis.
