Shockers Beat Bears for Perfect Season

WICHITA, Ka--Missouri State ended thier regular season against No. 2 Wichita State. Where the 30-0 Shockers looked to become the first team since Larry Bird's Sycamores to end the regular season with a perfect record.

The Bears Devon Thomas splits the defenders and gets the layup to cut the lead to 14.

Then, Wichita State doing what they do best feeding the post this time its Cleanthony Early with the score. 31-12 WSU.

In the second half, Jarmar Gulley gets three of his fifteen points. That makes it 43-25 WSU.

Then, a beautiful pass to Tyler McCullough and the lay in. To make it 46-29.

But nothing was standing in the way of the Shockers and perfection. Ron Baker gets the three.

Wichita State wins 68-45. They become the first NCAA team to go unbeaten since St. Joeseph's in 2004.

So the Bears end their season with a 9-9 conference record making them the 4th seed in the MVC tournament.

The Bears could have been a third seed if Northern Iowa didn't pull of this upset against the second seeded Sycamores. The Panthers won 71-69. Allowing them to jump the Bears for the third spot.

The Bears will play Illinois State the fifth seed.

That game will be at 2:35 on Friday the seventh. 

MSU split with the Redbirds in the regular season. In the latest meeting between the two teams, the Bears lost at ISU by a score of 67-63.
