Panthers Rally To Beat Lady Bears

SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Missouri State Lady Bears continuing their healthy homestand at JQH Arena Monday night, as they hosted the Northern Iowa.

Missouri State coming off of a 89-66 win over conference oppenents the Drake Bulldogs.

Lady Bears looking to reach the 500 mark with a 7-8 record.

Panthers Madison Wheatly with the floater off the glass makes it 18-16 Panthers.

Then, Lady Bears Mikala McGee driving middle of the lane and the score. 20-18 MSU takes the lead.

A close first half game.

As Panthers Hannah Schonhardt sets up for the three and hits it, the game's tied at 24.

Later, Lady Bears Hannah Wilkerson started catching fire, the nice spin and score makes it 32-24.

Panthers good shooting behind the arc, Jen Keitel gets the three and its a 32-27 MSU lead.

But it's back to Wilkerson, fast break, step back and pop.

The Panthers would come back in the second half to win this one though 68-60.

"We knew coming in it would be a challenge to guard them," said Lady Bears coach Kellie Harper.  "We actually didn't want to give up 13 threes, it wasn't part of the game plan.  But you have to credit them for getting their kids open and knocking down open shots."
