SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The defending national champion Drury mens team will start defense of that title Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. here at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

Drury is the top seed and will open up against Wisconsin-Parkside.

It was almost a year ago to the hour, that last year's Panthers team started it's national championship run.

This year's Drury squad is different.

The Panthers don't have the same firepower, and have had to work hard to jell offensively.

Yet at the same time, they tip off NCAA play with a 25-3 record.

There may be new leaders on the floor for Drury, but they have the same goal, get back to the title game.

"Our team unity was a little bit different from last year," said Drury guard Kameron Bundy. "We're working on it this year.  That's why this week in practice is going to make a huge difference for us.  Just not having a person come down and hit a three for us when we need a three.  We have to play as a team.."

"Last year we all had different roles," said Drury guard Drake Patterson.  "Of course Alex and Brandon and Teddy were the seniors.  This year it's more up to us and on our shoulders to prepare and perform."
