Missouri State Tops Southern Illinois

SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Saturday, the Bears basketball team playing a familiar foe in the Southern Illinois Salukis. Like really familiar. Coach Paul Lusk used to play for the Salukis and current SIU coach Barry Hinson used to coach the Bears. SIU leading the series between these teams 39-34.

Salukis with the rock and a nice baseline cut for Sean O'Brien and the score. SIU out to an 8-0 start.

Later in the first half, Bears Jarmar Gulley gets MSU on the board. That makes it 8-2 SIU.

Still in the first, a sweet little pass to Christian Kirk with the finish. That gives the Bears a 16-15 lead.

Back and fourth game at the Q. Kick out to Salukis Tyler Smithpeters that cuts the Bears lead down to one.

Before the half, Bears Austin Ruder setting up for the three, he misses and Gulley fights for the rebound and gets the and one.

MSU goes on to win it 69-63.
