SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Local basketball players have a chance to play some hoops again, as the 15th Mercy sports medicine college/pro-am at the courts began Wednesday.

Both the men and women athletes from Drury, Southwest Baptist Evangel and College of the Ozarks are participating this year.

Missouri State players will also play but be on split teams due to NCAA rules.

The league will run every Wednesday through July 23rd.

"It is definitely going to help a lot. I mean we got some new players on the team this year and we need to come together as a team. Definitely a good time to do it, out here in the pro/am playing good competition," said Panther point guard Kameron Bundy.
