SPRINGFIELD, Mo--New Missouri basketball coach Kim Anderson stopped by Springfield Monday.

Anderson visited with people at the Oasis Convention Center, autographing basketballs and enjoying the company of Springfield's Tiger fans.

Anderson was named Mizzou's coach in late April.

He previously coached Central Missouri and led them to a Division-II national championship this past season.

Coach Anderson says he's excited to be back in Columbia and ready to get to work.

"People have been very supportive. I know I haven't played a game yet, I know I haven't coached a game yet. So I know it's up to us to prove that we can get the job done but the response has been tremendous. It's great to be back at Missouri. It's great to be back at the University. It's really neat to be able to come down here and see all these people. I'm really excited to get started," said Kim Anderson.
