SPRINGFIELD, Mo--It's been a rough baseball season for Missouri State.

In our Bear Nation report, Keith Guttin's troops are 21-28 and are looking to snap a three game losing streak.

In town the first place Evansville Aces.

And the Aces had their ace, 9-1 Kyle Freeland on the hill.

He did not disappoint, Freeland strikes out Alex Jefferson swinging, and the scouts, and there were plenty of them, loved it.

Second inning Evansville's Kyle Pollock doubles to the gap in right center, he's in scoring position.

And Eric McKibban grounds to short, Joey Hawkins turns the 6-4-3 double play, but Pollock scores on the fielder's choice, it's 1-nothing Aces.

Bottom of the second Missouri State threatens, Conor Smith rips this shot to left center, off the boards, that puts Bears at second and third.

But Freeland would buckle down striking out Spencer Johnson from the left side and Dylan Becker from the right side.

Freeland went seven shutout innings, giving up two hits with 11 strikeouts.

The Aces win 1-nothing and clinch the Valley's regular season championship.
