Drury Tops Stars, Advance In GLVC

EVANSVILLE, Ind.--The defending national champions in the NCAA division two ranks, Drury, opened up defense of their GLVC tournament championship Friday.

The Panthers and Illinois-Springfield battling in the quarterfinals in Evansville.

Steve Hesser's troops roll into the tourney with a 24-2 record.

Ian Carter with the pick and roll and the hoop, and the Panthers own a four point lead.

Then Wendell Pierre drives the lane and the left handed layup drops in, 24-20 Drury.

The Panthers continue to pound it inside, nice bounce pass to Kameron Bundy, it's 26-22 Drury.

The Panthers can attack from the perimeter as well, Nick Yokum with the triple, it's a seven point lead.

Pierre again with the drive to the rack, 31-24.

Ian Carter with the shot fake and the j from the free throw line, Drury gets 32 from Cameron Adams and wins 72-64 and will play Saturday night in the semi's.
