SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Missouri State Bears are in the midst of preparing for the Valley post season tournament that tips off Friday afternoon for Paul Lusk's crew.

The Bears will play Illinois State.

A couple of Missouri State players earned post season honors handed out by the Missouri Valley conference.

Senior forward Jarmar Gulley was named second team All-Valley.

Gulley has scored in double figures in 17 of the 18 Valley games and averages 15 points and six and a half rebounds per game.

Austin Ruder was named to the Valley's All-Freshman team.

Ruder has 65 three pointers this season and averages nearly nine points per game.

It was special for Gulley who missed all of last year with a knee injury.

"I sat out the whole last year, coming in I didn't think I was going to have as good of a year as I am now," said Jarmar Gulley. "Just too look back to where I was and where I am now, I am just really thankful and blessed."

"It's a big time honor. It's a prestiguous conference, Missouri Valley. Glad I could play well enough to be awarded that honor," said Austin Ruder.
