Pickens, who has a stress fracture in his right leg, is a rebounding wizard, and the Shockers excell at hitting the boards.
Wichita State is one of only six unbeaten teams in the country.
And the 16-and-0, sixth ranked Shockers will be the highest ranked team that the Bears have ever played in Springfield.
Missouri State is 12-and-3 and the players know that they're going to have to match the Shockers physical play especially on the boards.
"We just need to go out and play our hardest," said MSU Forward Jarmar Gulley. "Try to rebound, they're a good rebounding team, their bigs. We need to go at them and try to get their bigs in foul trouble.."
"Most of the guys on the team returners look at Wichita as just a conference game," said MSU guard Marcus Marshall. "We don't look at the number on the side of their name. It's just Wichita State, they're in our conference. And they are definitely beatable. They're 15 or 16-and-0 right now, but they're beatable. Anyone in the country is beatable."
