Bears Lose In Heartbreaker

TERRE HAUTE, In--The Missouri State baseball Bears opened up Missouri Valley tournament Tuesday afternoon against a familiar oppnent, Dallas Baptist.

In our Bear Nation report, this is the seventh time these two teams have met this season, tying a school record.  

Indiana State is hosting this year's Valley tournament.

Missouri State would get a run on a sac fly in the third, and then adds to it later in that inning, Dylan Becker singles to right, Tate Matheny rounds third and heads for home, play at the plate, he's safe it's 2-nothing Bears.

Dallas Baptist would cut that lead in half in the bottom half, Mike Wesolowski grounds this to second, Nash Knight scores on the fielder's choice it's 2-one.

The Patriots would tie it up in the eighth,  Daniel Salters grounds this to second, bad throw to first, pulls the Spencer Johnson off the bag, a collision, that allows Wesolowski to score on the error, we're tied at two.

Then in the bottom of the tenth Drew Torbin takes this deep to right, over the boards and gone, a game winning homer, Dallas Baptist wins 3-2 in ten.
